Solar Power-How to Harness It

Solar Power-How to Harness It

Finding an alternative power source is today's crusade against the usage of fossil fuel power. If you are confused about this because you do not know anything about it, you came to the right place because we would be the one to enlighten you on the quest of searching for an alternative power source. Actually, you do not have to work out for the discovery of such power source for it has already been discovered. All you have to do is to learn how to harness its full potential, apply it in your daily lives, and allow it to replace your usual power source.

Solar Power-How to Harness It

Many different alternative power sources were discovered and are now available to humankind. However, for many reasons, not all of it is as efficient as fossil-based power source. Although it pollutes the planet asno other substance would, it is still an undeniable fact that fossil power is very efficient that it never failed to give us what we need from it: electricity. Electricity powers every device that we use to provide ourselves with comfort and make our lives a lot easier.

Recently, the carbon gases that it releases as byproducts are increasing and are now in an excessive state that it already affects the natural behavior of the planet. It traps an excessive amount of heat (compared to the required amount) and holds it. Not being able to release this heat causes the global temperatures to rise, thus, creating devastating effects. Therefore, following a simple logic based on these things, we really need to switch energy sources. So far, the most efficient alternative power source issolar power. It's inexhaustible, it is dependable and clean.

So how does a person harness it?

On a wider scale, an area or city that has its own solar power plant would have to do less when it comes to harnessing it. All you have to do is to have a connection to that solar power plant and that is it. However, you would not enjoy the true benefits of having solar power. It has the ability to save and cut your electricity bill by a significant percentage.

Therefore, if you want to harness it, you must have the tools and equipment that are required. What you need is a solar panel, means of transferring the heat that was collected to a battery or generator, which you would also need for the conversion of heat to electricity and the storage. A good practice isto use conventional electricity at daytime and use solar power at nighttime. This gives you a whole day to charge your batteries and the whole evening to use solar power.

Remember, solar power is a clean alternative energy source. In this situation, it is the best option that we have. That is why it is important for you to learn about it.

Are Dog Collars Or Dog Harnesses great For Your Dog?

You love your diminutive pooch, and you want to take the best care of them that you can. When you try to do this a questions starts to arise for you, and that is should you get a dog harness or a dog collar for your favorite pup? Many dog owners have this question, and the talk for real depends on what type of dog that you have.

For large canines, dog harnesses can be useful. However, for large pups it can be incredibly difficult to get the harness onto the dog. That being said, for small canines a dog harness can be a great selection because it is good for their overall health.

Dog collars are very useful when you are training a dog. They are great to teach your dog dissimilar tricks or routines. Additionally, they can be ideal to place your furry friends identification tags on. However, for all of the positives when it comes to small pups, collars can for real cause some damage. Small pups have delicate bone structure and weaker necks which can be harmed by a collar. Wearing a collar can make it difficult for your diminutive guy to breath properly. If you do not properly gain the collar and accidentally put it on too tight it can chafe and scrape your dogs skin. Additionally, for a small dog a traditional collar may just be uncomfortable.

A harness is a good selection for a diminutive dog because it is constructed in a way that protects your dog from accidental neck and back injuries should he jerk suddenly while on a leash. Basically, the harness is fitted around your dogs chest so that the weight from a yank is not concentrated in one place. Additionally, your dog will feel more comfortable in a harness because it makes for a very gain and supportive fit. Because of this fit if you are walking your dog and he jerks suddenly you do not have to worry as much about inherent neck or back injury. an additional one worry with whatever that you put around your dog and onto their skin is that it may chafe, and thankfully harnesses are commonly made out of nylon type material which does not tend to irritate your dogs skin.

The selection is for real yours and is dependent on what size your dog is. The good news is that there is quite a few options of both dog collars and dog harnesses on the market. This allows you to customize your dogs apparel to your liking. Additionally, both dog collars and harnesses are made out of a collection of materials which allows you to pick one that will be comfortable for your dog breed and their type of fur. You can pick the colors that you like, the patterns that you like, and of procedure the stock that you like.

5 Successful Walleye Fishing Tips For the Columbia River

5 Successful Walleye Fishing Tips For the Columbia River

1. River Walleye Fishing Locations

Out west we walleye fish a lot on the Columbia River.  It's a big river and if you are new to it, then it is best to find a map, study it, mark your hot spots and head out to the river to see if you are correct. While you are on the river, look at the other boats and it won't take long to determine if they are walleye fishing, bass fishing or sturgeon fishing. Pay attention to the walleye fisherman not for presentation sake, but to find the locations. If you notice one boat in an area for an extended period of time, chances are good they are catchingwalleye.  Usually it is a drift or trolling method and it's not that hard to get your boat positioned in the drift.

Walleye Fishing hot spots can change from year to year.  What was once a great hot spot is now dead as a piece of drift wood.  You are smart enough to know that walleye migrated to spots that contain easy food and a bolder or two to rest behind during the day.  My personal favorite locations to catch river walleye is to find a bend in the river and fish it.  Next is finding islands that have considerable drop offs on one side.

2. River Walleye Fishing Locations

Using our fish finder we will begin bouncing bottom walkers at about 2 mph.  If the current is stronger we will slow down our troll and if thecurrent is slower then obviously we will speed up.  During the summer and early fall, it really doesn't matter how fast you go, these fish will nail it, if you can get it within a reasonable distance from their resting spot.

3. River Walleye Fishing Directions

Direction is critical if you are in the main body of the river.  Using bottom bouncers and trying to move upstream is very hard, therefore we always head downstream with bottom bouncers. If you want to pull crankbaits, then it's best to troll upstream.  That is why we have at least 2 rods in the boat when we are walleye fishing.  One is used for bottom bouncing and the other is used for crankbaits.

4. River Walleye FishingPresentations

Presentations are straightforward.  Either the walleye will see a crankbait or it will see a crawler harness.  When we use a crawler harness our goal is to allow enough worm beyond the last hook to make sure it will wiggle.  When we use smiley blades we cut the worms in half and when we use blades we use a whole worm.

5. River Walleye Fishing Depths

Depth is another key factor in your success rate.  Depth is always changing depending on where you fish and the surrounding structure.  The Columbia River is a long winding river and depths can change from 10 feet all the way to 300 ft.  Front walleye waters are dependent of food sources.  Think like a minnow for a minute and tellme where you would want to hang out for safety and to find food sources.  During the evening hours where can you go to hide from Mr. Walleye.

I've caught walleye on the Columbia in depths of 8 feet all the way down to 100 feet.  Generally we catch most of our fish in the 30 foot range.

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

Diesel doing Chips have been evolving for over a decade and counting. With the increasing popularity of "Tdi" (Turbocharged Direct Injection) diesel engines in passenger cars and trucks, the demand for aftermarket tuning products has also increased.

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

Diesel operation Chips - What Are They and How Do They Work?

These products contain but are not little to electronic devices that I refer to as Diesel doing Chips. Clubs such as Bully Dog, Superchips, Edge, Diablosport and Hypertech and others originate devices such as change Ecm's (electronic operate module) circuit boards, modules that plug in to the vehicles wiring harness and also programmers and tuners.

The tuners or programmers are probably my favorite, second to modules. Tuners and programmers are pretty much the same thing, just distinct names depending on the manufacturer. I'll refer to them as tuners for the rest of the article.

The great thing about a tuner is that they plug directly into the Obdii port ordinarily settled under the dash. The Obdii port is a universal port that a code scanner can be associated to read Dtc's (diagnostic problem codes)

When a tuner is associated to the Obdii port, on screen instructions will guide you through the process of reprogramming the computer. Trust me, it's way easier than it sounds. The whole process is self-acting and only takes about two minutes from start to finish.

Most all of the newer tuners are also Dtc readers as well which will allow you to check and erase the codes if the check engine light ever comes on. A lot easier than having to take it to a mechanic to see why your light is on.

When a tuner's aftermarket programming is uploading to your vehicle or you are done checking the Dtc's, simply unplug the unit and store it away. A vehicle can be returned back to the factory programming at any time.

Modules will plug directly into the vehicles wiring harness. ordinarily all this entails is following the directions to find the strict plug most often settled under the hood. simply disconnect the plug, join together the module in the middle of where the factory plug was connected. Very simple.

If you want to return the vehicle back to stock, remove the module and reconnect the harness the way is way before installing the module. What most manufacturers refer to as an actual "chip" is a change circuit board that will need discharge of the Ecm and replacing the factory circuit board with an aftermarket unit. I tend to call all of the above Diesel doing Chips.

The way that Diesel doing Chips work in general is they reprogram the factory settings of the vehicle to settings that allow the engine to run more efficiently. Settings like fuel flow rate, timing curve and transmission shift points are the three I will explain.

Increasing the fuel flow can literally help the vehicle to run more efficiently, contrary to what one might think. When there is more fuel injected into the cylinder on acceleration, there is less "turbo lag." Turbo lag is the time before the turbocharger builds pressure. Lag is in the middle of when you hit the accelerator and when the turbo spools up and corrects the air/fuel ratio.

The longer the turbo lag, the longer the time it takes for the engine to burn the fuel more completely. By increasing the fuel, the lag time is decreased, thus development the engine more effective and giving it best throttle response. One more benefit to more fuel is that farranging while acceleration, more boost pressure will be reached giving a more unblemished burn of the fuel.

The timing curve is now reprogrammed to coincide with the increased fuel. At a higher Rpm, advancing the timing will give the engine more time to burn the fuel and again make the engine more efficient.

Changing the shifting points will also increase efficiency by keeping the gear longer under heavy acceleration and keeping the Rpm's lower under light acceleration.

I hope this article was informative and answers some of you questions about the differences in the middle of chips, modules, tuners and programmers. For more information, to tell vehicle definite products or if you just want to say hi, please visit the website below. The website contains data on alternative fuels and other ways to increase fuel mileage, but the main focus is Diesel doing Chips.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a method used for treating back pains caused by pinched nerves. It is most commonly used for treating herniated disks and degenerative disk disease, as the ultimate goal is to take the pressure off the surrounding nerves of any damaged disks. It can also be used to treat spondylolosthesis, facet syndrome, sciatica, and whiplash injuries, although the results are generally less effective.

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Ever watched one of those period movies, noticing the horse drawn carriages and reasoning to yourself you want to do that, or what would it be like? Join us on a journey now to see just what it takes to come to be a carriage driver, and how a horse is trained to harness.

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Training a Horse For Harness - What You Must Know!

Most population who take up carriage driving are either those who do not feel safe bet on the back of a horse, or who due to corporeal limitations cannot ride, but still wants to enjoy the firm of horses or the thrill of horse sports.

Driving has come to be increasingly favorite for use with weddings and special events today with many competitive drivers now offering this aid as a means of funding the upkeep of their horses and carriages. Ponies with kids' carts have come to be a favorite and often lucrative favourite on fairs and festivals.

Well to start carriage driving you would need a horse of course. However not all horses are superior to carriage driving. When seeing at, or for a horse to use for driving the most prominent observation is temperament. A carriage horse often requires continued periods of sanding, and nervous or fidgety horses do not do well, not to mention they are more likely to startle or shy.

For years now many have looked at safe bet breeds when searching for a carriage horse. And although there are breeds like the Friesian, Hackney, Connemara and Welsh Cobs who are considered as good carriage horses/ponies, the truth is any breed of horse is convenient for carriage driving, as the success of the horse largely depends on its outlook and conformation

When seeing at conformation of the carriage horse "the wider the better" but it is not a rule of thumb. Horses with width do have more Power and will find pulling a carriage easier the narrower ones are However capable too. A wider horse just looks better. When selecting a carriage horse on conformation, one would be seeing more towards your cob types; a strong sturdy levelheaded horse is best.

Well once you have the horse it would need training. Because driving and particularly competitive driving is a strenuous sport, being hard on a horses back it is advisable to only start the training of a carriage horse once it has reached the age of five.

It is also good custom to have the horse backed and going under saddle for at least a year prior to training it for carriage. That way the horse will be used to hearing ones' voice from behind it as well as receiving commands from the reins and behind it.

The initial stage of training a horse to harness is that of long lining and then training the horse to drag an object behind it, good indications that the horse is ready for advanced work is when it pushes send with its chest prior to walking off, and is nor alarmed by the sound of the object dragging behind it.

At this stage the horse should be teamed up with a more experienced horse and attached to a light carriage with a handler walking next to the horse. Ensure that the fastening of the horse to the carriage (for the first few times) allows for the handler to swiftly untie the horse should it be needed, once the horse is comfortable without the handler it should be driven with a partner for at least a month, two to three times a week, allowing for the horse to build up reliance and to get use to bracing against the carriage when slowing down. Once completed the horse can then start to work alone.

Training a carriage horse this way will minimize the possibility of accidents or injuries sustained to either horse or handler. It will also allow for the horse to gain the required caress and reliance in his work before needing to "go it alone".

Please do not try to train your horse yourself if you do not have the experience, many serious and sometimes fatal accidents can occur were a horse to bolt with a carriage. It is best to get help from someone who knows and can lend a guiding hand and horse.

Driver Training:
In Europe you are certainly required to pass a driving test should you wish to use a horse and carriage on the roads. But initially you would learn to drive a particular horse, then work your way up to two (known as pairs or tandem) then three (known as a unicorn or fan) and four (known as four in hand) very seldom today do we see teams of more than four, and even then it is done mostly for display.

What equipment Would you Need
-To start off you will need a particular harness consisting of a ride faultless with blinkers, a bit (the most commonly used is the Liverpool bit, or a four ring snaffle) and reins measuring up to 7.5M. A breastplate, or collar depending on the design. A saddle (no not your riding saddle) that houses the Terrets (loops the reins pass through) the bearing rein hook and crupper attachment. And then the part known as the breeching (The part that goes round and over the quarters, this assists with preventing the carriage bumping into the horse whilst stopping or slowing down.)
-The trace lines (which attach the horse to the carriage)
-A light particular horse drawn carriage sporting a double shaft in in the middle of which the horse is harnessed
-A light driving whip approximately resembles a lunging whip

Driving Sports
Competitive driving has been steadily on the growth the last few years, with driving marathons expanding in both competitors and supporters. However for the lighter minded there is:
-pleasure driving (showing)
-dressage driving (yes you do a test)
-obstacle courses for the more sporting and literal, drivers, obstacle courses are laid out using highway mark cones and tennis balls.

And then there is marathon driving with a team of humans normally consisting of but not miniature to the driver and groom who assists with counterbalancing the carriage nearby sharp turns (requires loads of guts, and a few under the belt at times). The best way to enumerate a marathon is and obstacle procedure navigated at approximately breakneck speeds in the countryside against the clock (hence the break neck speed).

Could Your Horse be Used for any Sport Other than Driving
Driving horses are not just used for driving, a well schooLED horse can couple driving with other equestrian sports, However most owners of driving horses tend to use them as hacks. A driving horse would be capable of competitive in most lower levels of equestrian sports with the irregularity of dressage, as driving tends encourage the horse to lean send onto the forehand, something very unsuited to the dressage horse.

However no matter what your level carriage driving can be fun and very rewarding.

Horse Racing - The Sport of Kings

Horse Racing - The Sport of Kings

Thousands of years ago, man discovered that an animal from the Equus order was good for carrying his burdens and lightening his load. Then one day, as the human race as a whole are natural competitors, we began to use that animal, calLED the horse, to race against others.

Then man began breeding horses to excel in speed and endurance. When this new type of entertainment and sport began to evolve, it was the nobility, or royalty, who could afford the price of breeding horses for this purpose. Therefore, that "class" of people were the ones who most often enjoyed the free time of contentious in horse races.

Early picture records of horse racing were found in the origins of prehistoric nomadic tribesmen of Middle Asia. It was they who first domesticated the horse nearby 4500 B.C. The first written records came much later, after horse racing was already an established sport from Central Asia to the Mediterranean. Horse racing became a part of the Greek Olympics nearby 638 B.C. And the Roman Empire was obsessed with the sport.

Modern racing traces its roots back to the 12th century. Knights of the British Empire imported Arabic horses upon their return from the Crusades. In the years that followed, hundreds of Arab stallions were crossbred with English mares to give the most desirable composition of speed and endurance. This breed of horse became known, after its evolution, as the Thoroughbred and of course the nobility were leaders in staging competitions between two classic Thoroughbred horses for hidden wagers, as a diversion.

As the sport evolved to being more pro during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 18th century, one-on-one races gave way to events in which several horses competed. Racetracks offered purses, or prize money to the winner of the events. And those purses grew larger in order to attract the best horses.

During the mid-1700s, it was decided that there needed to be a governing body to determine the rules and standards by which racers, breeders, and owners must abide. As a ensue the Jockey Club was established in Newmarket, and still exercises complete operate over English racing to this day.

Once the Club established the complete rules and standards of the horses and the races which could be run under sanction of the Club, five races were designated as the "classic" races for three-year-old horses. The English Triple Crown - which is open to both colts and fillies - consists of the 2000 Guineas, the Epsom Derby, and the St. Leger Stakes. Two other races, which are open only to fillies, are the 1000 Guineas and the Epsom Oaks.

As the British settLED in America, they brought very fine breeding stock and racing horses with them. The first known racetrack in the Colonies was on Long Island in New York. It was first laid out nearby 1665. Though horse racing was a popular local event, organized and pro racing did not undoubtedly start until after the Civil War. From there, the sport escalated in popularity over the settled parts of the country. And many of the racetracks were run by the "criminal element." As this was quite undesirable to the more important track owners and breeders, they met in New York in 1894 and formed the American Jockey Club. They soon established rules and regulations, similar to those of the English Jockey Club, and quickly eliminated much of the corruption.

The Kentucky Derby, one of the best known horse-racing events in the United States, was first run in 1875. Its home is at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. It is one of the three races which make up the American Triple Crown. The other two are the Belmont Stakes, first run on Long Island, New York at Jerome Park in 1867, and the Preakness Stakes, first run in 1873 at Pimlico Park in Baltimore, Maryland.

Although interest has waxed and waned over the years, horse racing is the second-most attended spectator sport in the United States, outranked only by baseball.

There are other forms of horse racing in both Great Britain and the United States. These include:

- The steeplechase, which requires the horse to clear such obstacles as brush fences, stone walls, rail fences, and water jumps. The oldest and most famed steeplechase in Great Britain is England's Grand National. It was first run in Aintree in 1839, and continues even today. The most famed in the United States is the American National. It was first run in 1899 at Belmont Park and continues to be held there annually.

- Hurdle racing is similar to the steeplechase, but is much less demanding. It is often use as a training arena for Thoroughbreds who will later compete in steeplechases.

- Point-to-point races are ordinarily run by amateurs throughout the British Isles.

- And last but by no means least is harness racing, which was very popular during the Roman Empire. Once the Empire fell the sport all but vanished until its resurrection, by those who liked to race their horses in harness on the country roads of America, at the end of the 1700s. The first valid tracks for harness racing came about in the early 1800s, and by 1825 harness racing became a popular attraction at country fairs all over the U.S.

Out of the rebirth of harness racing, a new breed of horse was born. In 1788, an outstanding English Thoroughbred stallion was imported to the United States. He was bred with American Thoroughbred and mixed-breed mares to manufacture the line of Standardbred. The name is based on the "standard" length of one mile in harness racing speed. The descendants of this line were rebred over the years to create this new breed which has the stamina, temperament, and corporeal size and structure to experience racing under harness.

Although harness racing suffered a decline of popularity again in the early 1900s, it bounced back in 1940 after being reintroduced at a raceway in New York as a pari-mutuel betting event. Its estimate of tracks and scheduled yearly events outnumber those of Thoroughbred racing in the United States today. It has also gained popularity in many European countries, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

What was once almost exclusively "the Sport of Kings" has segued over the years to encompass people of all lifestyles and income. It remains, however, a sport quite often connected with the "well-to-do", those who can afford the vast expenditure complex with raising the proper of horse required to run in, and win, the large purses awarded by, the most popular horse-racing events nearby the world.

Rescue plans don't have to be complex.

Working at Height-How to Develop a Rescue Plan

Employers should implement a rescue plan that includes procedures for:

Preventing prolonged suspension Performing rescue and treatment as quickly as possible Identifying suspension trauma signs and symptoms
Management responsibility for safety needs to give careful consideration to the methodology of rescuing a fallen. Such considerations might include:

Dialing 999 (911).-Often we think of the word ' rescue ' as calling 999 (911), but calling the local fire brigade does not constitute an effective rescue plan. Response times can be too slow, and not all fire brigades have the capability to rescue from height.

Crane Man Basket -This option has severe limitations, the main onebeing time. Target time from ' Man Down ' to being recovered needs to be no more than five to ten minutes maximum. Other restrictions and shortcomings that make this a less than ideal solution are the crane is out of action for some reason, e.g. it may be:
winded-off the driver may be away from the crane rescue by crane is limited to building facades and often is not able to provide access and rescue internal to the structure the crane man basket may be in the wrong location.
Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (M.E.W.P. 's) -This option for rescue can have its limitations such as available access and height restriction as the casualty may be at aheight greater than the reach of the M.E.W.P.
Rope Access Rescue -Rope rescue requires a Technical competency which demands a high level of training and re-training to acquire and retain this skill set. Given the limited time to complete a trained rope rescue, rescue personnel would need to be on stand-by and within close proximity to any incident. Donning the necessary kit to carry out a rope rescue can also be time consuming given that every minute the casualty is hanging is critical. Perhaps the greatest restriction is that it is a skill to which only a few would, or could be trained.

Third Party Rescue Systems -There are a number of considerations to take into account when considering third part rescue systems. In every TIME is the critical considerationfactor. The speed with which the system can be deployed and the rescue carried out is vitally important, as is the SIMPLICITY and EASE of use so that a typical operational can deploy and carry out rescue after being trained. Remember, whichever methodology you choose, the target time should be to rescue the casualty in under ten minutes.

Planning for Fall Protection must include Rescue-Having a rescue plan is just as important as having a fall protection plan. No site should have one without the other. Just putting together a fall protection program without rescue is only doing half the job. The onus is on the employer to ensure that the suspension is rescued quickly operational. That means ensuring that for anyone who works at height, there is a rescue plan.

Fallprotection must include an emergency rescue plan-How will you rescue an operative who has fallen and is suspended in a fall-arrest system? Answering some basic questions can help in developing a rescue plan.

Developing a Rescue Plan -A rescue plan requires answers to the following questions.

If an co-operatives fall is arrested, can they be rescued in under ten minutes?

How will you know that someone has fallen?

Will someone see it happen? Co-workers Other trades Plant personnel Members of the public
What communication systems will be used betweenthe suspended operations and the rescue team?

Voice Whistle Mobile Phone
Who will the co-worker call?
Nearest co-workers Supervisor Site Management 999 (911) Fire/ambulance where available
Is information available? Who and how will it be communicated?
Emergency phone numbers Site address Directions and access for ambulance/fire vehicle or other emergency services Which floor/how high upCo-operatives condition after fall
How will the safety of the rescuers be assured, as well as that of the suspended operating?
Operatives Are trained and competent in the use of rescue equipment? Is there sufficient number of trained personnel on-site? Rescue training records Are kept up-to-date including any re-assessments? Is the rescue equipment selected are appropriate for the nature of the work? What are obstructions in the way reaching the suspended operating? Assessments Have been made of anchor points? Hasconsideration been given to the method of attaching to the casualty?
How will rescue workers get to the casualty?
Rescue Ladder System Rescue Haul/Winch System Keys to building and roof Elevator Pull casualty in through window or balcony Pull casualty up to floor/slab/roof Lower casualty to ground level Climb/rappel down the building/structure Aerial equipment from ground Suspended access equipment Crane Man Basket
How will rescue be assured within five minutesof the occurrence of a fall to minimize the risk of further injury or death due to suspension trauma? And, what rescue equipment is needed?
Rescue Ladder Rescue Haul/Winch System Suspended access equipment Ropes Aerial ladder truck M.E.W.P. or scissor lift Climbing/rope rescue equipment Crane Man Basket First aid kit Stretcher available should be seriously injured casualty
What if the operative is injured?
The casualty Can still be rescued within five to ten minutes? Is there a qualified first-aid suspension trauma er who understands and knows how to treat it? Who andhow will the emergency services and hospital be alerted?
How will the public be protected?
Assign someone to direct traffic Set up barriers
How will the accident scene be protected?
Prevent further injury or damage Set up barriers Preserve wreckage Aid investigation later
Are there other considerations?
Working alone Language barrier Unusual features of building/structure Wind Other hazards No emergency services nearby Distance from rescue teams
WARNING!Anoperative who has suffered a fall and is suspended in his harness is a true medical emergency. Just because they are hanging in a harness doesn't mean you have all day to perform the rescue. Rescue has to be planned, practiced and performed quickly and effectively or the victim may very well die before the rescue finally occurs.
If you're not going to give your employees the skills to perform rescue, then you might as well not even put them in the harness at all.

Practices can save lives Perhaps just as important as having a rescue plan in place is practicing the plan before a real-life fall occurs.

How will the operation call for help?

What is Solar Energy and How Do We Harness It

What is Solar Energy and How Do We Harness It

The world's energy needs are increasing each year. Even with the effects of the green movement in many industrialized nations contributing to more efficient energy use practices than ever before, we are now facing large, energy-hungry nations like China who are ramping up energy usage.

What is Solar Energy and How Do We Harness It

Traditionally, our electrical energy needs have been fulfilLED through the use of non-renewable fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas. However, these energy resources have two primary negative effects:

1. They contribute to global warming and acid rain pollution, which hurt many plants, animals and people in the environment.

2. Not every country around the world has access to these fossil fuel-based energy resources, which can be a source of political and economic instability at the global level.

The alternative, of course, is renewable energy resources like wind, water and solar Power. These resources do not emit pollutants during energy production and they will never become unavailable; they offer a steady, unlimited Supply through time.

What is solar energy and how do we harness it?

Solar energy can be harnessed in two primary ways:

1. Through the production of electricity using a system of solar cells that convert the sun's energy into electricity.

2. Using solar collector devices to heat water for swimming pools, hot tubs and water heaters.

Solar energy that is converted into electricity can be used imMediately to Power lights or other devices, or it can be stored in batteries for use later. Solar cells created direct current (DC)-type electricity, but this electricity can be converted into alternating current (AC) using a device calLED an inverter.

Solar energy that is converted to heat energy for the heating of water can be used imMediately or it can be stored as hot water in water tanks.

Harnessing solar power may represent one of the most hopeful and practical alternatives to the continued use of non-renewable fossil fuels.
